im a fan of 75 this is indeed one of the best sounding and good looking 75, its bad timing that few ago my new 65 from mode just got delivered. i wish i new it earlier

I'm loving that they chose to update the Sonnet without really changing much since it's such a good board! The special colorways look killer, as do their "regular" offerings. Bummer though I was kinda hoping you'd try the copper plate. I've been curious about copper plates as they're not offered very frequently. That said, we've been seeing them more and more lately yet basically none of the content creators are using one in their builds so we still have little idea of what their characteristics are going to be like on different boards and/or with different mounting styles. Maybe next time?

Are the new Sonnet parts compatible the original? Like can I pair my old base with a V2 top, are the parts interchangeable? Also, can the new mounting system be ported over? Sorry for all the questions, I just love my original and thought maybe it could take advantage of the new version's hardware. Edit: It appears the new mounting system is not compatible with the old top case.

would be cool if you could test lattice blocks with V1 parts, In the mode discord they're "technically" compatible but I wonder if the sound is different at all

I held off on pulling the trigger on the Sonnet. After seeing the other boards from Mode, I had a feeling they were going to refresh the mounting on the Sonnet. Ordering my board now, Nice Video!

When I got my Mode65 Extras, I really didn't like that since What I got was pretty barebones stuff. But this one looks really good. Might pull the trigger later down the line!

Looking at their EU seller, KeyGem, the configuration I was looking into (nothing special, with one extra plate) would cost me 308 EUR with shipping. Then another 32% of customs tax and VAT, plus whatever extra costs may occur...and it comes out to 400-450 EUR. Too much for me. In short: get fked, Europe...

I know I mentioned it in the video, but NLandKeys is the primary vendor for this board in its current round. I felt it was important to talk about the drama that surrounds them regarding their delayed orders, some issues with the Molly60 and the Kyubi IC where people accused them of exit scamming. As I mentioned I have been monitoring their discord and had lots of convos with Aregs, of the company, and they have addressed a lot of the issues they’ve had, including refunding customers who ask and replacing parts. They are learning and navigating how to best serve their customers and actually implementing changes which I appreciate. Aregs seems like a really great guy. Although if this makes you nervous about the GB, I would suggest waiting for in stock products. I just thought it was important to mention as we looked at this board. Enjoy the build!

I like the versatility of the different mounting styles and the customizability of the board, but unfortunately I won’t be picking one up. Back when I was first getting into the hobby there was a GB rerun for the Zoom V1 that I purchased as my very first “custom” board. However, before the Zoom V1 GB fulfilled they announced the Zoom V2 and I believe they started preorders. Eventually my order for the Zoom V1 fulfilled and I built it, but the V1 GB a month before the V2 announcements and preorders just felt like a cash grab. The board really didn’t do it for me, plus Meletrix kinda rubbed me the wrong way and I just ended up giving the board away. However it totally could of been my fault, I was new to the hobby and may not have had much information as to what Meletrix had planned. Looking back now, I wish that experience left a bad enough taste in my mouth to not pursue the hobby further because now I have too many boards😂.
